Docklands extension

The Report of Public Inquiry recommended that the 1.7 km (1.1 mi) Connolly to Docklands extension of the Red Line proceed subject to certain conditions concerning effective risk management to avoid potential services disruption. There will be 4 stops: George's Dock, Mayor Square, Spencer Dock (serving the new Docklands railway station, approximately 500 metres away) and terminating at the Point Depot. Construction started at the beginning of June 2007[18]. According to the RPA, the extension will open at the end of 2009.
